Rice Crispies Treats

Rice Crispies are toasted, slightly sweetened breakfast cereal made from rice.  They’re reasonably nutritious and healthy, as breakfast cereals go.  Then someone came up with this idea, and made them anything but healthy.  (Which means, of course, that this is DELICIOUS!)

Melt in a large saucepan:
45 ml margarine or butter

Stir in until melted:
40 large marshmallows (or a 275-gram bag)

Add:
1.35 ℓ rice crispies

Stir until well-coated with the melted marshmallows and butter.  Spread into a nonstick cake pan and let them cool.  Cut into pieces and enjoy!

VARIATIONS: Mix in 60 ml smooth peanut butter, or 30 ml cocoa powder, or both.
