Heat in a large saucepan over medium heat:
30 ml olive oil
Add:
4 cloves garlic, minced
Sauté for 1-2 minutes. Add:
10 ml minced onion
5 ml dried oregano
25 ml chili powder
5 ml dried basil
1 ml ground black pepper
1 ml salt
2 ml ground cumin
10 ml dried parsley
120 ml pico de gallo
360 ml canned tomato sauce
Mix together, and then stir in:
720 ml water
Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.
