Sweet Pork Spareribs

When Bei spent an evening cooking with us in early 2002, we could not believe that this recipe really had only three ingredients.  The flavor is wonderful, and this is a very rewarding dish, for one that demands so little of you!

Have your butcher cut into 2-3 cm segments:
1 kg pork spareribs

Cut the spareribs into sections of one rib apiece.  Place in a large wok or other large skillet and just cover with water.  Bring to a boil, then simmer until meat is cooked.  Add:
125 ml sugar

Continue simmering until water is evaporated and pork is browned.
